Our Staff
 Pastor

Rev. Scott Swix (Pastor Scott) has a passion for faith formation, including education and spiritual growth and loves working with youth, preaching, teaching, coaching and equipping others for ministry. He attended Trinity Lutheran Seminary (Columbus, OH) and served as pastor, developer/redeveloper, and interim pastor in Michigan and North Carolina. Prior to being called to ordained ministry he enjoyed a career in the multimedia computer industry with IBM, Kaleida Labs and ATT/BellSouth, and considers that time a wonderful adventure and a valuable preparation for the ministry.  Pastor Scott thanks God for the blessing of his wife, Kim (also a computer software developer), and their two adult sons Zachary and Joshua.  Pastor Scott answered the call and began serving at St Luke's in August of 2016.

Associate

Minister

Deacon GeoRene Jones (Deacon Jo) is unashamedly zealous about faith-based community outreach. As a teacher and pastoral counselor, she uses her gifts to accompanying others as they explore and deepen their personal spiritual journeys. What she finds most meaningful is helping others identify their gifts for service, guiding, and equipping them for service in and for the sake of the world. Her preparation for ordained ministry began in her prior career as a paralegal, first in civil and criminal litigation, later specializing in intellectual property (copyrights, trademarks, patents). A graduate of Hood Theological Seminary (Salisbury, NC), she received her diaconal ministry training at Lutheran Theological Seminary-Gettysburg (now ULS). Prior to accepting the Call to St. Lukes, she served the NC Synod in Social Justice & Advocacy, Lutheran Disaster Response, and as Interim Minister at Wittenberg Lutheran Church-Granite Quarry, NC. Deacon Jo enjoys her roles as mom to one adult daughter, BethAnn, and as YiaYia to her amazing grand-people, Daniel and Emma. Deacon Jo’s call at St. Luke’s began July, 2022.
