LMM (Lutheran Men in Mission)

The St Luke's Lutheran Men in Mission (LMM), a branch of the national group by that name, started long, long ago (like, 30+years) with the purpose of supporting the Boy Scout troop meeting at the church.

With St Luke's no longer an active host site for Boy Scouts, LMM has evolved its purpose and is now dedicated to a broader mission:

1) Supporting our own youth group - helping them build relationships, engage in service to the congregtion and community, and grow as disciples.   Local roadside trash cleanup is a recent joint project.

2) Serving the community directly, such as cooking and serving meals at the Salisbury Homeless shelter.  LMM does what it can to help our neighbors in need of occasional household projects, such seasonal yard work for seniors, and home modifications for disabled.

3) LMM enjoys hosting fellowship events - with *food* - for the congregation, such as a summer cookout or winter breakfast.

And, of course, LMM meets for food and fellowship of their own on the first Sunday of every month at 7:45am.

LMM also works with the Property committee, runs the cooking at the Spring and Fall Fish Fry, makes a wonderful breakfast for the ladies for Mother's Day, and other activities.

LMM is committed to always asking the question: What is God's purpose for us?  And how do we live that out?
